Course Terminal Objective:

  • At the end of the training, the student should be able to effectively deal with the following :-
  • Effectively deal with any medical emergency in the workplace
  • Apply the principles of triage, in multiple casualty incidents
  • Perform one rescuer Adult Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, using the CPR mouth piece.
  • Recognize and effectively deal with an adult chocking victim
  • Control bleeding, including an amputation, impaled objects and treat for subsequent shock
  • Splint fractures, and treat for subsequent shock
  • Treat a burn wound, and subsequent shock
  • Know how to stabilize, and minimize further spinal injury
  • Know the signs and symptoms of Heat Exhaustion, and the treatment
  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of heart attack victim, and treat as necessary
  • Understand Asthma, and apply the required treatment
  • Apply all other knowledge or skill’s learnt during the training

 

Certificate Validity:

  • Maximum two year

BASIC FIRST AID COURSE              
COURSE OUTLINE           
DURATION – ONE DAY  (8 HOURS)                         

The Basic First Aid Course is a one day course aimed at employees of a company who are chosen to render First Aid to their colleagues in the event of a medical emergency or an accident in the workplace.

The fact is that the most “critical time” following a medical emergency/accident, is the first ten minutes. This is where a well trained First Aider can make a tremendous difference in the workers ability to return to work in a timely and able manner.

The training will be conducted by way of:

  • Training on a 60% theoretical and 40% practical basis
  • Individual students involved in problem solving scenario’s

  • CPR face mask, Cervical collar (Client)
  • Adult Resuscitation Manikin (Instructor)
